The Barack Obama Plaza designed & co-ordinated by Corbwell Design. The programme for the building works was set by Corbwell, which enabled a 6 month timeframe for all construction works. The development opened its doors July 1st 2014. This contemporary building has a wide range of facilities including a convenience shop, food court, meeting rooms, fuel facilities, drive through, car wash, Barak Obama gallery area, car parking to name a few. It is the main stopping point for motorists travelling between Dublin & limerick.
The building is very open with spacious circulation routes. The front façade is dominated by a sleek curved canopy incorporating the car park and the main entrance. A large amount of the front facade is covered with glazing to optimise solar gains while also creating an inviting atmosphere for passers-by.
